Yuksel Seeds focuses on flavour
Yuksel Seeds, an international company of Turkish origin, will have its main operations centre within Fruit Attraction 2021 at Stand 9F11A. With a consolidated track record in research and seed production, the firm company works to improve varieties of tomato, pepper, aubergine, cucumber, melon, and watermelon, among other crops. Yuksel’s focus at on the international fair, between October 5 and 7, will be on promoting its main “taste” novelties, highlighting their high levels of productivity and durability.
Featured products from the catalogue
Yuksel’s commitment is reflected in its slogan ‘Flavour specialists’, as demonstrated by its varieties of tomato, pepper and other high-demand products. During the Madrid fair, the firm company will present Bohol, a pickling cucumber for the spring and summer seasons, and Sweet Pointed Princessa, a pepper that is likely to elicit great interest due to its sweetness. Tomatoes deserve a separate mention, given the wide range on offer, such as the grooved ‘marmande’ type, as well as the oval – a segment in which Yuksel is already a benchmark in the main distribution chains with its Marcus variety – and 32 other varieties that will be presented at IFEMA.
As for aubergines, the seed company has taken advantage of its Turkish roots to export its experience and quality products to other markets. Thus, it offers striped and smooth varieties, as well as teardrop-shaped, round, mini elongated and special types for grill, in addition to all the most common aubergines. Finally, other “star products” include Sweet Pointed Peppers, Princessa brands, and Blocky or Bell Pepper, without forgetting other specialties, such as the Hungarian-type white pepper, which is very popular in Eastern European countries, and semi-spicy snacks, among others. Farmers can be confident about the shelf life of all products from Yuksel Seeds, a company synonymous of quality.
Innovation through co-creation
With a presence in more than 75 countries around the world, what characterises Yuksel Seeds above all else is the time and dedication it invests in each variety that it markets, as demonstrated by its significant investments in research and development. The company´s stated goal is to work every day on the varieties that are best suited for greenhouse or open fields, to guarantee flavour, differentiation and productivity.
The seeds company also implements a co-creation model, working with different agents in the value chain to devise recognised brands such as Cassarosa®, a pearly-pink tomato variety with a firm flesh and excellent shelf life that provides a unique appearance that allows it to be differentiated in a simple way and a unique flavour that the consumer remembers. Yuksel’s cucumber range is wide and world-leading crop, including pickling varieties (Bohol and Bonachon), Beta-Alpha mini (Boracay and Bagatao), long (Kaneko) and the American slicer (Vedras).
